This was me today.
Woke up on the wrong side of bed and stayed there. Overslept, no time to shower, late for my first meeting, rained-on for my next one, growled all day.
Grace came in the form of friends, and in Jet City's Lost Folio show -- a fantastic 90-minute faux-Shakespeare improvisation, complete with subplots, stranger prince & sidekick, clowns, friar, and princess-trading-places-with-her-nurse to pursue love. The players are Shakespearean actors with improv chops, so the grammar, the crunch and savor of the language, the plot helix, the blocking, and at times even the scansion rang true.
It was like hearing Yo-Yo Ma play the cello -- something difficult and fine was being performed perfectly. Finally, within me, something untensed.
